American
actress Danielle Riley Keough. She was born in Santa Monica, California, to
musician Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough who are the daughter of actress
Priscilla Presley and singer Elvis Presley. Keough was raised by her father in
Hawaii and Los Angeles, and additionally resided with her mother in California
and Tennessee. At age 15 she began modeling, which included appearances at
fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior and being featured
on the cover of Vogue. At age 20, Keough was cast in a minor role in The
Runaways (2010) as Marie Currie. Following The Good Doctor (2011) the film, she
was a part of Jack & Diane (2012). Prior to that, she was cast in Magic
Mike (2012), an uncredited role in Steven Soderbergh’s comedy film Magic Mike
(2012). In 2012, Keough appeared in Yellow and Kiss of the Damned. Then, she
appeared in the action film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). It was the fourth
installment of the Mad Max series. In 2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as
a law student-turned-escort in the first season of the anthology series The
Girlfriend Experience, executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009
film of the same name. Her performance was well-received by reviewers and she
was nominated for an award called the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance
by an actress in a short motion-picture or series created for television.
Keough's performance as a lost young woman in American Honey (2017) garnered
the actress even more praise and earned her an Independent Spirit Award
nomination. Keough was the main character in the zombie-themed horror film It
Comes at Night (2017). Keough then reunited Soderbergh to perform in Logan
Lucky, a heist movie. Keough followed that with roles in a myriad of thrillers
and horror movies in 2018 including Lars von Trier's The House That Jack Built
as well as the neo-noir Under the Silver Lake, and Hold the Dark. Keough was
the leading character in 2019's psycho-horror film The Lodge. She was next seen
in Zola (2020) that is an comedy-drama. Keough is the main character in Sandy
Harrison, Netflix's 2020 release The Devil All the Time.
