Her parents moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after her birth. She was educated at
Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts located in
the Arts District of downtown Dallas. Later she received the BFA diploma from
Stephens College in acting and also studied at British American Drama Academy.
She also spent six years with the Dallas Theatre Center, and one year with the
Encore Company. Prior to her screen debut, she started her acting career at the
theater. Her credits in the theater include "As You Like It", the
"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and the
"Measure for Measure", the "Baby" and the "Chicago"
productions, among other shows. Her most memorable performance came in the role
of Angelina Jolie in Michael Cristofer's acclaimed HBO telefilm Gia (1998)
which made her a favorite to critics and viewers alike. Elizabeth's charismatic
performance skills was evident in the sci-fi action film Frequency (2000) that
was in the cast of Dennis Quaid and Neil LaBute. Elizabeth Mitchell is an actor
who has a long list of credits, including films, TV shows and theaters. While
the filming of Frequency (2000) the actress broke her nose. In 1994, she did a
Hertz Rent-A-Car commercial but "they took it down because of the O.J.
thing." Living with David Lee Smith, ex-Brent from One Life to Live
(1968), in Manhattan's Upper West Side. Parents are tax and real estate attorneys
with their own firm that is located just 5 blocks from their house in Dallas.
After playing the character of Rosalind in "As You Like It" for a
number of years, Rosalind returned to the U.S. Her parents relocated to Dallas,
Texas shortly after she was born in LA in the year 1970. In 1991, she graduated
from Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and Visual Arts, located
within the Arts District of Dallas. She received her degree from Stephens
College in 1991 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Participated in Man
and Boy (2002) together with Ioan Gruffudd. The show ran on BBC 1 TV in March
2002.
